Jennifer Fulwiler and her new baby boy are hosting this meme. Prayers for the new little boy who was admitted to NICU for some problems in breathing!
1. My husband had a birthday this past weekend. We went out to RibCity. I have been to enough bbq places lately I should write an in depth review of all the places. RibCity was in a terrible location as in hard to get to, but it was good eating.
2. On Sunday my husband planned and executed our parish Divine Mercy Chaplet event. We had prayed the Novena and so it was nice to finish with a chaplet at church. As priests get further stretched, I suppose there will be more lay leadership in things not involving sacraments. Hubby would have loved to have had Adoration or the Eucharist and Confessions, but he did what he could and it was a lovely service.
3. My mom reported that my brother got his family moved up to the Chicago area. He is staying in Q to finish his job until retirement and to sell the house. It may be an 18 month process. I am praying so much that my sister in law (who isn't Catholic) will let my niece return to Q for her First Holy Communion with her class in May. But, God's will be done.
4. Monday I worked and hubby took the day off. I had a meeting after school about the flipped teaching videos. I was able to make more than five. I hate listening to my voice. I hate seeing my face. But, I proved I was not the incompetent old lady. I did it! And the grant for the Ipads didn't go through. But maybe next year! Because I signed my contract and will be the librarian again this year.
5. Tuesday at school I had a meeting to prepare for state testing. There are so many rules about the testing these days. I will have a group to test this year.
Tuesday evening was prayer group. Lately the numbers have varied wildly. We might have almost 20 or we might have 5. We had a dozen this week. A dozen is a nice number.
6. Wednesday was my Yayas women's group. There were tornado sirens after we all got together. We went to the basement. As one member said-- Maybe we should light the candles before the power goes out, the power went out. The hostess' husband in Seattle called later to tell her that the tornadoes had moved out of the area. We finished up our conversations and drove home. It was a little scary to drive home with the power out all over and the branches blown into the street.
The power was out at home and we went to bed. The next morning I discovered that my computer wasn't working. We have a surge protector, but the power blinking could have done something to it.
7. Thursday a "snow day" was called because the tornado had touched down in my school district. They were dealing with the damage, downed trees, and power outages. This is a day in May that I won't get back. I will have to stay in school longer to make up for it. Below is the only "snow" I see today.
