I may be wrong, but I don't recall snow last winter. We had ice and cold temperatures, but memories of snow elude me. But, this morning I woke up and snow. There was about an inch. It was delightful. It should make a little dent in the drought.
This is one of those take a breath days. I finished all the shopping I intend to do. I really am not tempted by the last minute sales. I don't have lots of parties or family to clebrate with. I don't really drink or love to bake. It seems like everyone I know close by already has plans.
So, tonight, to fight off melancholy and establish new traditions, I intend to create a new event for me and my house (which really just means me). I will go to evening Mass, make dinner, bless and light the Christmas tree, sing a few Christmas songs, pray a rosary and maybe watch a Christmas movie. I will start with that as my new tradition for a frosty night at the end of Advent.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow......
