Happy Birthday!

So once upon a time a long, long time ago my dearest friend called me up on a winter's evening and screamed--We met the guy you're going to marry!  The royal "we" was she and her roommate, my dearest friends and sisters in Christ.  After discussing the merits of this "guy" it didn't seem to me that he had anything to recommend himself to me, but I kept and open mind. 

I finally met him on St. Valentine's day at a Methodist prayer meeting, the only two Catholics at the Wednesday night prayer meeting.  He held my coat.  But, after that, we didn't even see each other much. Until one summer day when he just "happened" to be going past my apartment. (On the other side of town from where he lived and in a parking lot difficult to navigate even if you happened to live there.) He took me out to lunch and we started dating and the rest as they say is history.

And in December 1978 I fulfilled my friend's prediction--I married him in the Charismatic Catholic Church and became a sailor's wife and saw the world until he retired from that and settled down in St. Louis.  And he went on to work in computers and raise cats. We lead a prayer group together and can often be found at church.

And today is his birthday!  Happy Birthday, Honey.  I wish you a great and restful day.  And many more.
