I learned something about internet "safety" at the librarians conference. It was something I have always known on some level, but this presentation was short and sweet and to the point. Don't post it on social media or a blog unless you would wear it on a tee shirt.
And I don't. I learned from painful experience that somebody may find your blog, your FB page (even with privacy settings), your Tweets, even forward your email when you least expect it. So I try to watch it. And if I am really, really hurt. And if I think I have something to say about it. Delay the posting, because I seriously might change my mind. And if all else fails, take it down, delete it, because while it may still be out there somewhere, it is harder to find.
