Jennifer Fulwiler hosts this meme. I hope that she is back on duty this week. I hope you all were praying for her precious baby who spent some time in the NICU.
1. I spent Saturday morning at hostess retreat for the Magnificat prayer breakfast at the Rigalli Center. Hostessing is a charism. I am not sure that I have it in the traditional sense, but as a faith leader for the group, I think I could qualify. There was wonderful music. We met in what had been the chapel of the convent of the sisters who used to live at the seminary and take care of the seminarians. The hostesses for us served a wonderful lunch.
2. Sunday, hubby and I went to 9:30 Mass and then out to Culvers for lunch. I worked on a First Communion outfit for the doll I am giving my God-daughter in a couple of weeks.
In the evening I went to a wake for the mother of a friend. And then called my mom. Mom is doing about the same. 91 years is not for sissies.
3. Monday was a non-scheduled day at the library. That means I didn't have any classes scheduled. I had lots of people in and out. My student worker didn't show up. It seems she had exams that she didn't tell me about.
Two of my favorite kiddos came in begging money for student council. Then they asked would I be willing to take a pie in the face for some sort of activity. I said, "no way!" I am not game for that sort of thing.
4. Tuesday was school all day, spiritual direction, and then prayer group. School was not busy. We are in the middle of state testing. My testing group wanted to know why I didn't have more toys in the library workroom. Let's see--maybe because it is a middle school, because it is a work room, because--who as time to play with toys? I conclude that I am getting better at spiritual direction because I left with food for thought instead of unsettled tears. I probably have a blog post or two in my head as I work through my issues. Prayer group was wonderful.
5. Wednesday I worked at school. My test group took the full 2 hours on Wednesday. The rest of the day was pretty quiet. I worked on overdues.
I went to my Yayas women's group in the evening. We are watching "The Bible." (I think the book was better!!) It was fun to share our joys and sorrows.
6. Thursday I had book club after school. These kids are fun and a little silly.
7. I lector this Sunday, as you listen to the readings from Acts perhaps you will understand why I wish those Apostles had travelled to Rome and Athens and London instead of the places they went. I practice reading them many times and have the words nailed, but sometimes my mind goes "up" when I am at the ambo. On those times I hope that the mind will somehow pull out the right words. (Or I will mumble, but I hate that.)
