Kelly Mantoan hosts this meme these days.  Go visit the rest.

1. This past weekend snow was expected. Yikes!  Snow is always chancy around here because a) drivers don't really know how to drive in it and b) the snow removal equipment is more in keeping with a southern city than a northern one.  Hubs and I went out to lunch on Saturday knowing that we might be housebound on Sunday.  We chose to go to 4pm eve Mass and it was snowing pretty good even by then.  We saw a car the completely spun around on the way to church.  We stopped at Lees Chicken on the way home.  And the Blues won the hockey game that night, so it was overall a good day.

2. On Sunday we did awaken to about 5 inches of snow.  Since we had already been to Mass, we took it easy.  Mid morning although it was still snowing a bit, we shoveled the driveway.  It was interesting to shovel while hearing the birds sing their spring songs. Fitbit doesn't give much credit for shoveling snow which is a problem for me.

3. On Sunday evening when I spoke to my 93 year old mother who lives more than 2 hours north of me she mentioned that she had an adventure. She went out to get groceries on Saturday and had a flat tire.  This was not unexpected.  My brother and I had told her that her tires were getting really bad and she should replace them.  She was determined not to since she is thinking about giving up her car when her birthday comes along in June.  Mom was really fortunate because a nice man stopped and changed her tire for her and followed her to the filling station where she bought 2 (only 2!) new tires although the garage man had recommended 4 new tires.  I have a flurry of feelings about this.  I am glad she is okay and if she was somebody else's mother I would be saying something like the good Lord was looking out for her.  And I know He was, but I worry about her driving and decision making.  The distance (more than 2 hours!) that she lives from any family member is scary as she gets older.  There is nothing I can do about this.  I have asked her to consider moving closer, but she is adamant that she is staying where she is.  My husband from time to time says that I am stubborn.  If that is so, I come by it honestly.

4. I was getting a lot of blog traffic, mainly it seemed from Russia, for one of my Boring Posts for Saturday from 2012.  It was a nothing post, not clever or interesting in any way.  I am not sure who or why anyone would direct traffic there.  But, if I have learned one thing in life it is---there is a reason for everything, whether I know or understand the reason or not.  So, I took down the post.  The post they are being sent to will not be there.  They aren't looking at it on Saturday anyway. I am probably the only blogger out there who tries to keep my stats down instead of attracting more traffic.

5. On Tuesday the snow began to melt.  That sent ripples of water through a leak in my library roof.  The leaks seem to spring in new places.  The school is only 8 years old and I believe I have had leaks every year. In different places!

I finished off the pinwheel quilt and gave it away the same day on Tuesday.  I have lots of starts but only one more that is ready to actually quilt.  I had better get cracking.

6. On Wednesdays this month our senior associate pastor is giving talks on the Gospel of Luke.  I went this week.  Interesting.  Luke is a very prayerful Gospel. I am looking forward to reading it with new eyes.

7. Thursday I had the book club after school.  I am at the point of deciding who is on the team this year.  It will be tough because very few kids really read most of the books.  I hardly have enough kids for a team.
