My line at my library to the middle school patrons as I finished up the book fair last week was, "Have a good break. Don't break anything!" It almost always gets a smile. I know middle school humor. More than one student will return to middle school next week sporting a new cast. It is the way of middle schoolers.
I thought of taking a blogging break, just to have time to pull myself together. But, the weather promises to be on the cool side, I already have a dentist appointment and plan to take the cat in for shots, so it doesn't look like it will be a week packed with fun surprises.
The weather has just started to be warm enough for the spring flowers to start to show up. So, on this first official day of spring break as I head off to the dentist, I give you spring....

The jonquils, daffodils, or narcissus were almost ready to bloom. I have seen other lawns with ones that are open. By the end of the week, they should be open.

The Japanese maple in the front yard has not yet begun to bud. It appears the robins will be skipping nesting in it again this year.
The purple crocus were just beginning to bloom Sunday morning.
By noon they had begun to open.
And by Sunday afternoon they were open.
Some yellow crocus that had promised to be more exciting colors than this, were opening as well.

And the lilies of summer are just beginning their journey. I know that spring has truly arrived seeing these peaking through.
