Jennifer Fulwiler hosts this carnival.  She is an author, event planner, blogger, wife and mother.  Go around and visit the rest.

1. St. Valentine's Day brought icy parking lots, sleet and snow.  Getting out of my car my bad foot led and lost footing.  Unfortunately, my good foot (right one) was still in the car and got wedged.  I was in a pretty pickle sitting on the bottom of the door opening, unable to move.  I finally lifted myself up by the door with my arms, got the right foot unwedged and on the ground and managed to slip slide into school.  I was so thankful that I have been going through PT because my foot/ ankle were strong enough to go through all of that without injury.

And  February 14th was a half day at school.  There were 3 fights with injuries at dismissal.  Middle school kids hyped up on candy and hormones are not a pretty sight.  I made it home, sip sliding, and stayed there.  Hubby and I had steaks that I cooked for dinner and exchanged cards.

2.  And he took me out to Applebees, my favorite restaurant, on Saturday after Mass.  It was biting cold, that dampish, windy cold.  I thought it felt even colder than the below zero weather we had last week.  I like the chicken and portabellos at Applebees.  It fits in with my weight loss plan and tastes delicious.  It was an evening laden with romance, or what passes for that after 35 years of marriage at my house.

3. The bad part about going to Mass on Saturday evening is that Sundays don't seem well anchored.  We went around and looked at the outsides of some houses for sale and the inside of one.  We are thinking of ranch houses.

4. Monday was the President's Day holiday.  Both hubby and I were off work.  That usually makes for a cleaning day. I ran around barefooted and did injury to my bad foot.  By evening I was in pain and very discouraged.  This foot thing has its ups and downs.

5. Tuesday I worked, had spiritual direction and physical therapy and my 12 step program.  It was a busy, busy day.  I am finding more serenity within my hurry, hurry, hurry.  The PT hooked my foot up with electrodes and iced it and it felt better. But, only after she made the muscles twitch.

6. The rest of the week was a blur. Wednesday I had a meeting about librarian evaluations.  I got to stay home that evening. It got warm Thursday and storms blew through. I hosted my book club after school and did my first test to determine who is on the team.  I hung around school until the evening and attended a Black History Program that took place in my library. I provided technical support.
I am getting too old to hang around this place so long.

7. This week I have considered that I am learning to be patient.  I am learning that the daily grind doesn't really get easier, it just changes. I am learning to breathe deeply and reflect.  When I get overwhelmed I try to remember how much I am loved by my Lord.
