Jennifer Fulwiler hosts this meme. Go visit the rest. I am kind of random and out of order this week. (par usual, I guess.)
1. Last Friday I went to the foot doctor. I had a shot in the ball of the heel of my left foot. I never thought I would allow such a thing, but the foot doctor assured me that it was what I needed. It was! My crippled up left foot stopped hurting. I had been hobbling around like an old lady for over a year. I also scheduled physical therapy this week. I have high hopes that I can move like a normal person again. I am already moving more like a normal person.
2. I went up to Quincy last Friday and vacuumed and mopped for Mom. She needed an appliance light changed but had everything else worked out. I feel a deep since of frustration about the way she handles things, but I am trying to breathe and let her be as independent as she can be. Her medications are driving me crazy. She feels that she has to wait until she has 3 pills left before ordering more. This means that sometimes it is a 3 day holiday weekend when she is running out. Of blood pressure meds that she really needs.....
3. While going up to Quincy and coming home I saw bald eagles on the Mississippi River. That is still a thrill. The river has more ice than I have seen for years.
4. On Sunday and Monday I did assorted cleaning, bathrooms and pantry. I quilted for a bit. And I received an email from a student I taught in my third grade class 20 years ago. He said some very flattering things about my teaching (and I don't think he wanted money from me). (And I hope that if he wakes up tomorrow and remembers that it was Ms W and not me that he wanted to say those nice things to, that he doesn't email me and take it back.) He is studying to be a school librarian and he and his wife rescue cats. One out of two isn't bad.
5. On Sunday my Uncle P, my mom's youngest sibling passed away. He was a good man. I went up to Galesburg with my mom and brother to the funeral yesterday. Sometimes funerals are the last places to see cousins and their children.
6. On Tuesday we had 1 to 2 inches of school and they called a snow day. I think we may never get this year finished. We may be going to school until August at this rate. I shoveled the driveway and spent a good portion of the day praying for a friend having surgery that day.
7. The craziness of my busy life is starting in again after the relative calm of vacation and the week of snow days I had at the beginning of January. I feel like Alice falling down the rabbit hole. Things are floating past me and I look at this one and that one and I can't take them all in.
