Our parish Advent by Candlelight was on St. Nicholas Day this year. It ended up a snow day for my school district, but most of the snow went south, so the Advent by Candlelight wasn't canceled. I did have time to set up like a woman of leisure in the afternoon. It spoiled me. I don't think I will do Advent by Candlelight next year because it is too much work running home from school to set it all up. Someday, when I am retired I will host this thing again.
But I thought I would show you the rest of the tables.
But I thought I would show you the rest of the tables.
This was my table right before the guests arrived.
I loved this china with the words.
This was simple and beautiful.
This one was even more simple and beautiful.
Red was the theme of the evening.
I liked this white one.
Lots of red.
Also pretty.
She brought china.
Interesting.
Pretty.
When she was finished setting up, she had even more candles.
Elegant.
Busy but pretty.
We had a musical program in the church sung by one of the Catholic high schools. They were really good, but I am not much of a music fan. I did not enjoy this Advent by Candlelight as much as the last two years. But, I know that many of the women enjoyed the music more than the speakers. It is nice to allow for a variety of tastes.
Last year I started right after Christmas looking for things to use for Advent by Candlelight. I won't get rid of those things. But, I think I need a year off for 2014.
