Jennifer Fulwiler hosts this carnival of the blogs. Go visit the rest!
1. In God's wonderful creative way I had my cake and ate it too last Friday. School was called off because of impending snow which never really came. Advent By Candlelight was not called off, because the snow never really came. I went over to the parish hall like a woman of leisure and set up my table in the afternoon. It made for a much more relaxed Advent By Candlelight.
2. I also was a hostess at the Magnificat prayer breakfast on Saturday morning. I have to admit that I didn't feel so good. Driving down there, I wished I hadn't committed to the hostess gig or the praying afterwards. I was tired and my sinuses ached. Somehow I just can't shake the sinus infection part of this thing. But the speaker was wonderful, I am so glad I didn't miss her.
And the ladies at my table were the nicest. And for the first time I won one of the centerpiece gifts. I ended up with the littlest box and I assumed it would be a pin I already had, but no, it was a wonderful medal of Our Lady of America!
I picked up a Chic Fi La lunch and shopped in the afternoon. I ended up getting $60 worth of stuff from Kohls for less than $2 with all the coupons I had. Most everything I got was for Christmas, so I feel like a real shopper person.
3. Monday at school we were changing out laptops in my library. It made for a busy day for the computer people. I got distracted from my work many times. I got a new laptop and case. My old computer was just fine, so I am not really excited about learning the ropes of the new one, but it is done.
In the evening hubby and I went to the non-holy day of obligation Mass for the Immaculate Conception. It is good to go to Mass at night. And a Marian Mass at that.
4. Hubby and I got the tree up and decorated this past weekend. After we were finished, I realized that I was missing some of my favorite ornaments. On Monday night I found one more box that had my favorites, so more decorating.
5. I went to Mass on Wednesday night. The parish youth have requested a second Wednesday of the month Mass. Unfortunately, no youths who could lector showed up, so I did. The first reading was a beautiful readings from Isaiah 40.
Then my women's group had a get together for Advent and to catch up and to celebrate the 27th birthday of the son of one of our members. This boy has been in a persistent vegetative state for more than 20 years.
6. Thursday I went to Adoration with my husband. I really needed to write Christmas cards and clean some things, but I didn't see that happening. Spending time with Jesus seemed like the thing to do.
7. Weather is expected today, Friday. Freezing rain and up to 3 inches of snow. Happening during the day. I am not amused.
