Monday Night at the Book Fair

I stayed after school on Monday night for the Parent Meeting.  It is usually held in the library and I usually don't go.  But, I am supposed to go once a year, so I scheduled my very tardy book fair for this meeting.

After school on Monday I ran out and picked up dinner at Lee's Chicken.  It isn't my favorite, but it is low carb and fast.

I came back to school, talked to the lead custodian for a while, and ate.

Then I waited and I waited.  I started to wish I had just gone home. The blower was blowing in cold air.  Lights at one end of the room were burned out.  I wasn't in the mood to read in this cold place.

I brought a quilt, so I tried to start that.  I like to watch television and quilt, so that wasn't all that interesting.

Finally, time arrived for the meeting, the book fair was open.
The parents had a meeting on school uniforms. (We are a school with uniforms.)

Looks fascinating, doesn't it?

I count on selling lots at this first book fair of the year to get books for the classrooms and the library.
I usually sell a few of these.  Why, I have no idea.

I haven't sold a single fly swatter pen and I hope it stays that way.

It is a waiting game.  But, the effort paid off.  By Monday night I had sold $265.
By Tuesday night I had sold an additional $500.  This is my reading incentive board.

These are sculptures or marble roller coasters.

They look like fun, although they lean rather badly.

And this little pen guy has my affection.  I am a big kid when it comes to the book fair.
