Considering all the outright odd names I deal with on overdues, Library Ann would not be such an odd name for a daughter. It would have been a good name for me. I have been a library mouse my whole life. Sometimes I see myself in the students who use the library a lot. I was a quiet reader who knew a lot of books.
My book club this year comes closer to reflecting me own love a reading and to some extent my personality than any year of book club. At least, I tend to think that. One of my girls would look at me and say--You wish. They don't see me as a reflection of themselves, older grayer, but a bibliovore--a book consumer.
But, recently, when they named themselves, I had to admit that perhaps we are farther apart than I had previously thought. The group has decided that they are the "Fluffy Butts." And despite all my efforts to get them to move on from that, they bring it up each week. They want tee shirts. It won't be happening.
If we had tee shirts made, I think Library Ann and Andy would be a better role model.
