1. Last weekend I had a snotty little head cold. Isn't it strange that such a non-serious illness can make you feel so bad? I always feel absolutely terrible when I have a cold like that. But then it gets over. Or most of the time it does. I wonder what the purpose of colds are? Anyway I have passed it one to my hubby and I think he agrees. It is a snotty little head cold.
This was kind of health week on the blog between writing about the cold and the menopause.
2. I went to the Magnificat Women's Prayer Breakfast on Saturday morning. I was a hostess which means I prayed over each seat at my table for the women who would be sitting there, helped set up the food, poured the water and led the discussion. Then I went and prayed for people. I ended up not getting home until 2pm. (And I had that snotty little cold.) So Saturday was a wash for getting anything done.
3. Monday I got news that my biopsy tests from last week were the mildest, best results. If I hadn't been so tired form not sleeping all week, I would have rejoiced even more fully.
Also, Monday morning the beginning guitar class moved into the library with me while some sort of repair was being done in their classroom. I told the teacher later, and I wasn't kidding, that it sounded as though they were killing elephants. Anyway, I am hoping that their talent improves as time goes by. And I am hoping that they stay out of my library.
4. Tuesday was a busy day at work. I carried around the cell all day because I was expecting a call from Mom's doctor. No such luck. Then when I got home a voice mail came through that had been left at 11 am. This was 5pm and too late to call. Sigh.
5. So, I called Mom's doctor on Wednesday. Nothing serious going on with Mom. Drink more water. Good advice for us all. I wonder if she has considered diet root beer?
6. Thursday I had book club with the kids after school. There were 21 of them and not everyone was there. I love those kids but there are too many of them and they have too much energy. Entirely too much energy. I try to scare them with how many books there are to read and how much I demand. But, I knew I was with "my kind" when I announced--silent reading time and everybody was absolutely quiet for the entire time. When the book club has readers, it isn't hard to do.
7. Looking at my blog stats it is obvious to me that most of my blog visitors come looking for--sycamores, Advent by Candlelight advice, St. Louis, eggplant recipes, and what not. They don't come for my deep spiritual insights. They don't come for my poetry (which is a good thing because I gave that up a few years ago). Sometimes they are curious about baby quilts. Tourist bureaus of vatious cities I have mentioned have checked me out. No lawsuits yet, so I think I am safe. So far.
