Jennifer Fulwiler hosts this carnival.  Go around and visit the rest.

This was my last actual week of summer vacation.  At 8 am Monday next morning meetings begin for the new school year.

After Mass on Monday one of the daily lectors asked if I would lector for her next week, sadly, I had to decline, because I will be at those meetings.

Last weekend hubby and I found a crape myrtle, actually two, a pink and a red (or darker pink).  Since the vacation we had been looking for a myrtle because we noticed them in Virginia.

After Mass on Monday it was cool, in the 70s.  I decided to try to meet one of my summer goals.  I had planned to walk every day and by the end of the summer do the "long walk" again.  I didn't do the prep, but I did the walk.  No fewer than 2 women stopped to offer me a ride.  I made it all the way around the 5 k.  That is 3.3 miles up hill and down.  I was limping for the last half mile, but I made it.  I made it!  Praise God!  (I had decided that it would be an opportunity to praise God in the victory or to increase in humility.)  Praise God!

I have been planning upcoming baby quilts.  It seems there are babies coming out of my ears in the coming months.  It seems as though I told the Lord I was done with quilts for a while.  He hugged me and laughed and sent babies for whom I can't resist trying to make quilts for.

The deciding what it will look like is the hardest part.  I have 3 quilts in the works and one more of fabric sitting around.  I need to get my needle working.  I really do love working with fabric.  It is something I need to do.

I have been helping with registration on Wednesday and Thursday.  Some people claim that their library books have been returned and I can check that.  About half the time they are right. Registration is going slow which probably means that next week about half the school will come in to register when only the secretaries are handling it.  And the first day of school will be a hot mess. (I am predicting.)  ((I hope I am wrong.))

Wednesday was St. Ignatius of Loyola's feast day.  I have developed a fondness for him.  I never thought that I would have much in common with the soldier saint, but after reading about him, I concluded that we were more alike than I had thought.  I ask him to pray for me.

We have had some rain this week and cool temperatures in the middle of the summer.  I am not sure what that is all about.  But, I will take it.
